Thanksgiving

Yowza, eight babies! We had some twins and their moms over for a playdate.

Dominic was feeling inadequate about always dressing our twins in PJs
so he got Milo a track suit to prove that we are good parents.

Luca looks so much older in the photo because of the shadows that fill in his hair.
He looks like a 3 year old and for some reason this makes my heart sad.

Surviving Solids

Boy, has it been a long, ten days since we last blogged. The babies have been on a diarrhea-rash roller coaster. Their digestive systems just couldn’t handle their first taste of avocado. On top of their diarrhea, they had awful, painful diaper rash. Poor things had many tearful diaper changes (very painful to witness). We tried everything under the sun: Butt Paste, Huggies, Pampers, Earth’s Best, Triple Cream and drying with a hair dryer.  Instead of just changing them once after their meal, we’ve been changing them before and after the meals (sometimes 3x). It makes for a very long day (just ask Dominic).

Below are some sweet moments in between all the diaper changing.

Solid

Our little angels had solid food for the first time on Saturday. It was very exciting to see the twins enter a new phase in their young lives. Can you imagine being a baby and having your first taste of avocado?!? Here’s what that looks like. Luca has two bottom teeth breaking through his gums. So cute!

Halloween

Dominic brought the twins to my office on Friday. Every year, Wieden + Kennedy puts on a great family-friendly Halloween party (includes inflatable castle, miniature pony rides, petting zoo, etc.). It was a mad scene—audio and visual overload. Children screaming and squealing in every quadrant. Milo and Luca were dressed as a penguin and giraffe.

On Halloween, we had three trick-or-treaters! Three! It was a pathetic showing. Do you know where all the children went? LLOYD CENTER MALL! It was disgusting. I went there at 5p.m. without a clue of the mayhem. Who takes their kids to the mall to trick-or-treat? These kids are missing out on the best part of running in the dark from house to house asking their neighbors for candy. I thought it was sad. Our kids will never trick-or-treat in a stinking mall.

6 Months and SFBFF

The twins turned 6 months old on Friday. It feels like they’ve been with us forever.

I’m guessing the babies are 1 month old (right photos)
We had a great date night with one of our BFFs from San Francisco on Saturday. Brian and I have known each other since we were sixteen years old. We met in high school art class. Everytime I hear a Depeche Mode song, I think of him (ha!). Brian went to prom with my sister and wore a pink cummerbund. When we lived in San Francisco, I would grab him and sneak to McDonald’s for dinner when Dominic was out of town. Needless to say, we love him and could dedicate an entire blog to this man.

Brian was great with the babies. He stole our filthy car and vacuumed and cleaned it. So thoughtful and appreciated since we don’t have time for such things.

How do new parents whoop it up? Dinner at Ping, video games at Ground Kontrol (for the record, I am still the Centipede Queen) and dessert at Voo Doo Donuts.
