The Golden Age

We experiencing a wonderful time right now. It’s quite different from a couple of weeks ago when the boys were still new to standing (and falling). This translated into stretching out one arm to help one baby climb to a stance while extending one leg to brace another’s fall.

Luca and Milo are learning to walk using different approaches. Milo will scale the baby fence horizontally (“cruising”). He will extend one hand, grab onto the fence and take a step toward that direction. Extend a hand, take a step. Repeat. Luca will pull himself up onto the fence. He’ll look around, twist to face you, let go and fall/leap toward you.

Milo is training to be an alligator wrestler. Changing his diaper is a test in patience. When we try to change his diaper, he squirms, twists, and flips until he’s on his stomach. I’ve since thrown the changing pad onto the ground, pinned him with my feet below his armpits and given him my camping headlamp to distract him while I change his diaper. Baby may have strength but mama’s got smarts.

Flashdance!

No baby was harmed for this shot.
My beautiful boys

When I bike home from work, I lean my bike against the tree and peek into the nursery from the outside. Most of the time Ruby is already waiting. Her white patch on her forehead stands out from the shadows. The babies and dog basically loose it when they see me waving and popping up from below the window like a lunatic.

Look at Milo. This is what we get when Baby Signing Time starts. He’s a zombie, completely mesmerized by Rachael and the signing babies.
Then theres the downside of Baby Signing Time. This is his reaction when the host starts to sign her farewell song.
